Director

The director is in charge of the creative aspects of a film. A director will work together with a producer to oversee the production of a film. As they have creative control over films, directors are able decide what the film looks like. All directors have certain style which is shown in all of their directed films.During pre-production the director will work with the script writers to discuss changes. After the script is finalised the director will turn the script into sequence shots. The director will also decide what type of shots and angles are used in each scene.

A film director will work with all the members of the crew; advising and making sure that filming runs fluently. He/she will often advice and talk to film crew members to make sure shots filmed are what he/she envisioned. Any director from film to television has a wide understanding of the industry they are in. They know what the public want and what makes their form of media successful. A director must also be very creative and be dedicated to their work. They also have full understanding of other areas of the production team. Before becoming a director you will have to work your way up the production team. Starting off as a runner is the easiest way to get in to the industry.

A director should have the stamina to work intensive hours and be very confident.
